Sometimes the Facebook news feed exposes you to things that you would rather not know... While trying to recover from the initial shock of one such event and supress the following destructive curiosity that inevitably comes, I found just the distraction I needed. Thankyou Emma Magenta!
It was released in July but it's mine now... from itunes
A digital solution to a digital problem... and I think a real cup of tea will sort out the rest...
Well we missed out on this one living on the West coast but my sister and her boyfriend managed to get there - living in Melbourne and all - featuring a bit in this video getting a super cute free tattoo illustrated by Ghost Patrol..... I hate pain but am pretty jealous after seeing the results at Christmas time...
- look for the blonde scarved couple looking on anxiously.... before bravely diving into the paper cathedral of permanent cuteness pain!!!
To keep up with Ghost Patrol or perhaps purchase his artwork go to http://ghostpatrol.net
Last year I was lucky enough to be asked to design the promotional material for the West Australian Institute of Fashion and Textiles graduate showcase and I am so excited to be doing it again this year. Here is the 2008 look and a sneak peek at 2009.......
One person can only do so much and somehow blogging fell of the page of things to do! Here is my drawing of Lisa Mitchell for the next Box Magazine....
How I came to be a designer is very much due to the constant exposure to talented and independent folk in Fremantle. While I couldn't decide what I wanted to do or be etc, I was living the boutique shop girl and coffee maker dream...... I met some amazingly lovely creative inspiring hardworking souls and one whom I have kept track of is Zoe Keogh. She is now somewhere in Berlin? with her husband and daughter dreaming up illustrative adventures for Ynki - I will do a mini interview post soon to share what she is up to!
Things happen while waiting for your morning coffee and today these sweet little postcards happened to me in the cafe down the street. They are advertising a wealth of eco information through West Australian websitewww.cleanlife.com.au
These drawings were enough for me to go back to the studio and have a snoop around the site and take notes!
I share a studio with designer, art director and illustrator Andrew Allingham.
Great characiture work is skillfully very impressive but, it is so rare that I actually like the images. Andrew recently illustrated Lily Allen for Box Magazine and I fell in love! Here she is!
To see more of Andrew's work check out Rollingstone, Box Magazine or Purple Design...
