Spread the LOVE

Why do I continue to only drive a Peugeot and miss my red 306?
Why do I buy Bensimon sneakers again and again?
Why do I only buy Apple for my work tools or go by their recommendations?
Why do I LOVE having a Kitchen Aid mixer even though I only make crepes with it?

The answers all lie in LOVEMARKS: The Future Beyond Brands
and the follow up book The Lovemark Effect as shown above
Thank goodness someone out there understands....

Desktop Magazine has relaunched! For me it has been a wonderful inspiring success as I rarely purchased it previously. I knew something was up with the great cover by Mark Gowing

Natalia Milosz-Piekarska

WOW!

See her interviewed here at Daily Imprint

Bill and Fanny

For Christmas I got many beautiful presents among them being, a pair of Happy Socks and a copy of The Selby Is In Your Place book!

What do these two things have in common.....? Well it's Bill and Fanny!

I think I have a couple crush on these two - they seem to pop up in all areas of like for me so I thought I would mention them here :)
I first came across William Gentle and Fanny Bostrom when Todd Selby featured them in their home on his website The Selby - I fell in love! Then I realised I was already familiar with Fanny's face through fashion magazines as a model... Anyhoo that covers The Selby connection. Her now husband William Gentle (Backyard Bill) is a photographer and shot the latest and previous Happy Socks campaign! Voila! Fanny is an artist/illustrator/accessories maker extrordinaire and has her Folki accessories range in Anthropologie (one of my favourite shops that thankfully now ships to Australia)! So folks buy your Happy Socks and something Folki to feel just a little bit associated (including a few degrees of separation) with this creative NY couple! (Also check out their blogs and websites linked to their names in this post to see William's photography and Fanny's artwork) x

The beady eye.....

I was having one of those days yesterday but these bracelets came out of it...
Nothing like a bit of beading and fluorescent cord to lift the spirits
The turquoise one was inspired by my friend Becky Blair's paintings (more about her later)
so that one is now hers to keep
maybe I should make more and sell them?

Have a golden day! k

Free Tattoos - Miso and Ghost Patrol

Well we missed out on this one living on the West coast but my sister and her boyfriend managed to get there - living in Melbourne and all - featuring a bit in this video getting a super cute free tattoo illustrated by Ghost Patrol..... I hate pain but am pretty jealous after seeing the results at Christmas time...
 - look for the blonde scarved couple looking on anxiously.... before bravely diving into the paper cathedral of permanent cuteness pain!!!

To keep up with Ghost Patrol or perhaps purchase his artwork go to http://ghostpatrol.net

B&M Store - new to Fremantle!

WOW! It's Christmas in a few days and it's so nice when great new store's pop up! I am excited if not a little envious that B&M Store has arrived at 49A High Street Fremantle WA! I went in there recently and saw a very cool little rubics cube style puzzle cylinder thing but I can't remember what it's called :( Very pretty colours and different sizes!  They also stock cool stuff from Page Thirty Three (Above: Pics from B&M Store's Blog and Below: Pic from Page Thirty Three website)

Hiya! I have beautiful images from Jade at Paper Threads to post later today (her handmade paper journals are amazing presents for Christmas I think)! For now check my new favourite label Snoozer Loser from NYC! Their Fall/Winter video is beautiful and I love this pin cushion necklace ... and yay they have a shop online!

Oh and don't forget to listen to CJ's mix for George on the player to your right - it's really nice for Mondays especially!

Acne or ACNE?

I have a bowtie fetish - as you will soon see with George Frizzle  but I think ACNE has out done my Liberty Print Summer Bow ties with this nod to mother nature at their London launch party.... My friend Rob works for ACNE in London and Paris and I am waiting to hear if he was privy to this party and whether or not he was tempted to hijack this beautiful accessory and make it his own...?

more George Frizzle.....

Beyond Garment

Sometimes I do wonder about my apparently very sleepy coastal hometown... however, while Joe and I rode our bikes around the edge of the port we decided to stop by the Maritime Museum and voila - Beyond Garment Exhibition! A dreamy space where beautiful objects have been displayed with the sensitivity they are not always honored with in their transition from maker to owner through a retail medium....  (I took this photo with my phone so it's not so good but the exhibition is well worth it and its FREE and on until the 28th November 2010.)
