Shadowy Friends

off to moonlight at another studio today so I will have some company! I wouldn't mind a shadow monster friend from France like these ones ! I may have to imagine one into existence for the lonley days when Joe is stuck in sky prison.... He gave me my Herman Dune CD a couple of years ago and it always makes me smile.. I like this song with the photo of the little girl being carried by the shadow monster... x

B&M Store - new to Fremantle!

WOW! It's Christmas in a few days and it's so nice when great new store's pop up! I am excited if not a little envious that B&M Store has arrived at 49A High Street Fremantle WA! I went in there recently and saw a very cool little rubics cube style puzzle cylinder thing but I can't remember what it's called :( Very pretty colours and different sizes!  They also stock cool stuff from Page Thirty Three (Above: Pics from B&M Store's Blog and Below: Pic from Page Thirty Three website)

Paper Threads

Here are the photographs of Jade Dearle's Paper Threads products (courtesy of Jade Dearle) I was telling you about! She isn't currently selling online so if you would like to support a maker of beautiful things and see anything that tickles your fancy here her email is paperthreads@hotmail.com  x

Snoozer Loser

Hiya! I have beautiful images from Jade at Paper Threads to post later today (her handmade paper journals are amazing presents for Christmas I think)! For now check my new favourite label Snoozer Loser from NYC! Their Fall/Winter video is beautiful and I love this pin cushion necklace ... and yay they have a shop online!

Oh and don't forget to listen to CJ's mix for George on the player to your right - it's really nice for Mondays especially!

Soft Metals - vintage synth mmm...

Corner Store Christmas!

Well I already posted one of these but here is the full set of Christmas Ads I have completed for Corner Store....Phew!

Fremantle Arts Centre Bazaar 2010 & George Frizzle..and HOME OPEN!

Firstly a little theme music:

She & Him - Thieves from Merge Records on Vimeo.

So it was very hectic for Betty and I to get George Frizzle to the Bazaar and now I am still catching up on the past three months of no sleep! The Fremantle Arts Centre staff were absolutely amazing in their attitude and support for the stall holders -thankyou! All the stall holders them selves were also very friendly and supportive of one another.

Apart from Betty and I making all our products I have to say a big thankyou to Kathleen from Strumalum Screen Printing for guiding us through the screen printing process and doing a beautiful job printing what we ran out of time to do! Anyone out there wanting to learn screen printing or needing a small printing run done for you check out Strumalum! Also a big thankyou to Tom Freeman for bringing our dream cart to life!

I met lots of new people, made some new friends and dreamed about owning some of the beautiful outfits that came floating by on shoppers passing by the George Frizzle cart. The above photos are mostly of the Friday night which had a special buzz.. if you look carefully I am theatrically describing to a lovely customer how to tie his bowtie easily!

Next are a couple of photos relating to my favourite other stalls:

I bought something very nice from Christobel's stall. Really I could have bought all of her work.
This photo comes from Christobel's blog.

Look how cute and slightly strange this little rabbit man is! This was made by ceramicist Fleur Schell from Soda Studios in North Fremantle - I bought some other little things too but they are presents so can't show yet! I seem to be having issues trying to find exact links to Soda and Fleur Schell so here are the contact details: Soda Studios 1/98 Stirling Highway North Fremantle WA Phone: 08 9433 4833 Email: soda.admin@bigpond.com and here is a link to view some more about Fleur.

Jade from Paper Threads makes her own paper and paper products, books and beautiful textile bags with delicate embellishments. I didn't get back to her stall to buy anything but I did get her business card with her details so I will try and get some photos and maybe buy something.... for me!

PS. Don't miss out on the HOME OPEN Exhibition at the Fremantle Arts Centre! My friend Tanya Schultz is part of it - she is also one half of Pip and Pop with Nicole Andrijevic! The image below is from their site Pip and Pop! I am in mad crazy love with their work....mad and crazy...!

How can there be war when there is music?

I grew up on Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic recordings of Beethoven and went to the Perth Concert Hall to see WASO perform his Ninth Symphony last Thursday - those who don't know it listen to it loud, it's magnificent - for those who do I don't need to say anything except "Do you need a tissue?" I have my friends sleeping baby in the house so it's my Sennheisers are helping me with this one today....

Tie Me Up Friday!

Well here is a bit more of George Frizzle and a few progress pics..
In order of apperance: Joe's old wooden tool box has become my "craft" kit, Bow Ties ready for pressing, the leftover paper from making bunting (so pretty but I wonder what I can use it for...maybe some kind of 80's electro collage?), Les Bow Ties avec mannequin, and lastly I rushed to get a few plates painted with GOLD for Betty to take for firing in the kiln...(this particularly effortless effort will not be advancing to the firing stage! )

Well, my guests Becky Ben and Eva (le bébe) arrive tomorrow from England so I will be working deep into the night trying to relieve my schedule so I can make some time to play - Salut!

It's all coming along.....!

Meet me at Pierre et Gilles

My latest work for Corner Store - Whoa baby - it took awhile.... but I loved every photo taking, image sourcing, deep etching minute!

Acne or ACNE?

I have a bowtie fetish - as you will soon see with George Frizzle  but I think ACNE has out done my Liberty Print Summer Bow ties with this nod to mother nature at their London launch party.... My friend Rob works for ACNE in London and Paris and I am waiting to hear if he was privy to this party and whether or not he was tempted to hijack this beautiful accessory and make it his own...?

more George Frizzle.....

Flash for THURSSSSDAY!!!!!

Man o man....working on one thing thinking about another......coffee from Erica and The Flash Dance will save me! Maybe they can save you too on this sunny Thursday before Friday..... oh and I am watching the mechanics across the road fix "Le Peugeot"from my lofty studio - why oh why must the french car require so much monetary love????? Mon Dieu!

Oh and Summer Camp again x
